does it work on hdd? has anyone here tried it?

Bootlegninja

it works from usb or mc. and it does work pretty good. Try this version (http://psx-scene.com/forums/attachments/ps2-homebrew-dev-emu-scene/13742-fceultra-ps2-packed_fceu.zip?d=1186757049) of it. its the most stable. the one draw back I've seen so far is the menu text gets a little screwy. Also the controls run like this

Controls:
L2=load state
R2=save state
L1=state# down
R1=state# up

dpad up = up
dpad left = Left
dpad right = Right
dpad down = Down
Select = Select
Start = Start
Square = b
Cross = a

Triangle = Quits emu and returns to Sony browser
Circle= Starts/Exits ROM, Enters folders on menu

when did this come out?

Bootlegninja

The original version, I think back in February, but the project came back to life recently.

I knew I heard about this a while back. I thought it was an N64 emu for PC though. I've been using IMBNes this whole time but this works pretty good. It kinda makes me want to play SMB3 all over again.

Bootlegninja
08-11-2007, 12:55 PM
well at least with this emu, it has usb support. personally, I don't like burning a new disc every time I get more roms.

Bootlegninja

New versions.

the packed_fceu.zip contains fixed versions of the EMU with the original button config.

The packed_fceu_custom.zip contains the emu with the same fixes, but has a different button config as the following
In game

ps2 button = nes button

directional and save state buttons are all the same as before
square = select
triangle = start
cross = b
circle = a
select = quits ROM
start = ?

Menu selection is the same as before.

Bootlegninja

screw nintindo, we need a nintendo 64 one hahaha

JNABK
08-12-2007, 07:35 AM
yea, we need new emu's, not just improved ones.

AMD
08-12-2007, 12:50 PM
Isn't N64 the only other emulator left to build? Everything else works except for that and GBA. Or did someone make a GBA emu?

JNABK
08-12-2007, 05:06 PM
Nope, GBA emu was started, but never finshed. They did make a GB color though.

theres no dreamcast, saturn, etc.....theres still a lot of consoles left.

AMD
08-12-2007, 07:40 PM
I meant ones that could be possible through common sense :P. Obviously dreamcast wouldn't be possible due to a faster CPU, much more powerful video card etc...

fly
08-12-2007, 08:54 PM
would a Nintendo ds be possible

djinc

no and since the ps2 is so old nobody will even try

Is it anygood? better than IMBNES?

Bootlegninja
08-25-2007, 12:24 PM
its a lot better than IMBNES or InfoNES. with this one, no disc burning. just run the roms from your usb stick or MC.

NHS2008
08-25-2007, 12:45 PM
Good! so It can be launched from USB!

Bootlegninja
08-25-2007, 12:57 PM
yep. I launch mine that way. (using beta65) Also, remember using that version, to place the font files in mc0:/fceumm/

If you don't the program will hang.

This new version is nice. I sent all my roms through host from ulaunchelf. The only real gripe i have is the inability to scroll through the list with any speed.

NHS2008

Yeah thats a good thing.
But I wish they add CDFS support in future...cause I had only one 2GB USB pendrive which got screwed up!! is there any other good nes emulator(exept IMB NES) which supports CDs?

Bootlegninja
11-04-2007, 11:17 AM
InfoNES, but it's not as good as FCEU or IMBNES

NHS2008

It's an 'unofficial version done by bootsector. here's his changelog along with link to direct download on his webpage.

New release (0.90c Unofficial):

:. New palette (AspiringSquire's NES Palette), exactly the same as 0.92 official

:. Palette fix: now games like Felix the Cat don't get messed colors! :)

:. General optimization set to -O6. Didn't get any random freezes so far. But if it becomes unstable, I will revert back to -O2 later :D

Yeah absolutly.
only in the new versions that have come out by bootsector are still very buggy. usually during exiting a game.

A new unofficial version that includes CD/DVD support is available (ver .90i) over here (http://www.brunofreitas.com/portal/index.php?q=node/24). A tutorial for building the DVD can also be found here (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ovelhainflavel.com%2F index.php%3Fshowtopic%3D1428&langpair=pt%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8). I have followed this tutorial and it works, however save states do not work. If anyone has any success with getting a DVD to work which includes save states, let me know how they did it.
