there is no swap magic that I'm aware of for the wii
there is however a homebrew channel and if I am remembering correctly a patch to play Wii backups but I'll have to research it some more and get back to you on it
the best way to mod a Wii in my oppinion is a soldered in mod-chip
the solderless clip on chips have a tendency to bend the chip legs making the clip on chip not function properly or at all
there is a newer chip out that you plug in between the drive ribbon cable but again I haven't done alot of research on that one either I'll look it up and get back to you on it
if you decide to go with a soldered chip either have someone with extensive experience soldering a wire to a pcb do it or pay the 40 bucks for a pro to put it in the pads you solder to on the wii dvd drive board are very small and easy to lift
last but not least if you plan to go with a chip I would recommend the wii-key V2 it works with all current drives operates in stealth mode and plays all current wii and gamecube back ups

I'll look into those other options and post more in a bit

Must agree with DJFLEXMASTER79, I use the Gamma Backup Launcher and can personally recommend it. My only advice would be to DEFINITELY read the instructions at least twice. You could also get someone to set up the files in a zip (which I may do as a service) then you only have to unzip to a mem stick. That way all files are in the correct place.

I have previously done this for a gent 200+km away and emailed him the files, as well as put on CD and posted to him. He was very happy, it took him around 15 minutes in total to get his to play backups.

PM me if you would like me to make a package.
