Default New title.db maker

I have created a new program that creates TITLE.DB files, but with a twist!
The TITLE.DB files that it creates will check for a boot.elf file on a usb drive, and load it if found.? From my testing this worked with uLaunchelf, SMS, and HDL.? It also has the added ability to change the color that the screen flashes when it starts(usually a bright white). Plus, it will read ids straight from a ps1 disk in the drive.(hmm now that I think about it, it might try and get the ID of a ps2 game as well...)

Its not quite the most user friedly program yet, since there are no docs/help buttons/any information really, but its still a work in progress.

Version 1.0
-Boots mass:/BOOT.ELF if found
-Custom color option
-Reads ID off a cd in the computer

Note: I did do some testing with it, but please please backup your existing exploit before using this, as it might not work for you(in which case report that to me, what you did, etc.. and I'll try and fix it)

Also, If there are any features you want to see in this program, go ahead and ask, since it has been a fun project for me.(This holds true if you want a more special TITLE.DB file, say that boots from mc0:/BOOT.ELF or something like that)

Very nice! i like that idea of only having the title.db on the MC.

An idea:
How about have a dev2 style boot, from the hdd0:_BOOT as an added option.
Maybe add the option in the gui where the boot.elf will be located; MC,USB or HDD

Then if boot.elf not found, default to MC BxDATA folder.

It already will fall back to the standard booting locations if there is no BOOT.ELF on mass:/.
I was thinking about hdd abilities, but as to adding custom user entered boot paths, I don't think that would be possible since I think it would require recompiling to make it happen.

Great Idea. I also like the idea of being able to boot off a pendrive.

Would I only need the title.db and the boot.elf file for this to work (off mass:/boot.elf)? Or do I need a system.cnf file, etc on my mass:/ drive as well??

Just the title.db file on the memory card in the correct location, and the boot.elf on the usb drive.

I think it goes in the root of the usb drive in this version(but my work in progress version has it in the a folder named BOOT, iirc)

Ahh, I see. What then really is the point in running the boot off the mass:/ drive, if you still need the MC (title.db, etc)? Wouldn't it just make sense to boot off the MC too then? No offence intended, I really do appreciate your work.

Love the color change capabilities though.

The advantage of this is to only have the TITLE.DB on MC to save space, as the TITLE.DB is very small.

I see. So I can put my launcher and everything else on the pendrive, and run only the title.db off the memory card. Not a bad idea. Not really a problem for me since I run all my .elf files from the hdd:/ so really only the boot.elf for launcher work off the MC anyways.

I saved 300kb thanks to this. 2 questions though.

If you can change the colour of the splash, is it possible to add a function to add an image instead?

Also JNABK said this already though is it possible to add an HDD boot. Mainly cause the USB drive I use for my PS2 is one I carry around with me a lot.

Either way this really helps save space and management. Thanks again.

It would be possible to have an image, but that would take up more space, and increase load time a little more. I'll add hdd support when I get some more free time, and maybe images who knows.
